{day seven}

Today marks the end of the first week of this 31 day

journey!

I know!

I can’t believe it either.

I thought I would check-in.

The week has been full of ways to encourage

others.

Some thoughts may have been familiar but

neglected.

Other ideas may have been new and challenging.

Today I want to write to the person who is

in need of encouragement.

The one that hopes that someone in their life

has read the first six days of posts and picks them

as their target.

Raise your hand if that is you.

I can’t see you across your screen but God did.

He already knew actually.

I love the image described in II Chronicles 16:9a:

For the eyes of the LORD range throughout the

entire earth, to strengthen those whose hearts

           is true to him.

He is looking everywhere for you.

Let yourself be found by Him.

You don’t have to be strong because His purpose

is to pursue and strengthen you.

Let Him chase you down in your discouragement.

Let God Come Near.

In the Old Testament, God  looks for you to encourage

and to dwell with you.

Jesus in the New Testament beckons you too.

Come to me, all you that are weary and are carrying heavy

burdens, and I will give you rest.

Let him take the weight off your shoulders.

Let him help you rest.

Let Others Come Close.

Discouragement can make it seem that everyone is too

busy to be bothered with our plight.

It may seem that everyone has it altogether, so why

don’t we?

Years ago, as a mom of young girls, I was lamenting  complaining

to a friend about how no one seemed to care that I was going through

a hard time.  It seemed fairly evident to me.

At the time, my friend’s response made me angry, but later I realized

she had spoken the truth boldly.

“Helen, no one is helping you because you do such a good job of looking

like you have it altogether!”

We can be weak before our friends.

We can be truth tellers.

When we let down our guards, we give

others permission to do the same.

Let Prayers Land On You.

You don’t have to give details.

Simply ask someone for prayer.

God knows all and will guide prayer.

Ask a trusted friend.

Leave me a comment that simply says,

“Please pray for me.”

Send me an email if a comment seems too public.

Copy and paste my address into an email,

it’s on the sidebar.

I am honored to pray for you.

So are others.

Don’t let the prayers of the people escape your needs.

Let Yourself Be Comforted.

By God
By others
By prayer

Before you know it, you will be able to

testify:

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort,
who comforts us in all our troubles,
so that we can comfort those in any trouble
with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.

Let Yourself Be Comforted

so

You Can Comfort Others.

  1. I have prayed for you and I will continue.
May God bolster your heart and soul today and each day after.
He will find you in the midst of your day…count on it!
