I am focusing on this verse for the next couple of weeks.

Many, O Lord, my God are the wonders you have done.

The things you planned for us
no one can recount to you;

were I to speak and tell of them,
they would be too many to declare.

Psalm 40:5

I like thinking of that word “many”.

It is all about ascribing to God the glory due His name.

A name that encompasses so many facets.
This little verse is all about the many.

Many wonders.

So many plans that can’t even be counted or spoken.

It reminds me that as much as I want, I don’t see it all.

I don’t know it all.

I probably don’t even realize all the wonders that pass through my days that I fail to see.

Each time that I repeat this verse, I open my mouth and  say…


I pause because after all there is a comma.

But really I pause as I let that word wash over me and leave me in awe.

Then I whisper O LORD.
