every. single. day.

I recently wrote about the different search words that have landed people to this blog.

Besides the very random words,  there was a certain scripture that is viewed every single day…multiple times.

What scripture would you look for online?  Could it perhaps be this one?

This is the all time most viewed scripture on this little blog:

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD,

“plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you.

You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.

I will be found by you,” declares the LORD, “and will bring you back from captivity.

I will gather you from all the nations and places where I have banished you,” declares the LORD,

“and will bring you back to the place from which I carried you into exile.”

Jeremiah 29: 11-14

I have always loved this scripture.

I have been thinking about why this particular scripture would be searched for so often.

But as my mind surveys the landscape of those I know and those that I may hear about on the nightly news…it becomes clear that we all need hope.

We may have hope…but there are times that we need to be reminded that our hope is not in vain…that it has not somehow vanished.

Our hope is secure.

We need to be reminded that the LORD has a plan for us…not only an eternal plan but one for the here and now.

When life gets hard or seemingly unfair,  we need to be told again that God means no harm in the present pain…from desolation there can be fruit that only He could cause.

We need to keep seeking Him…and seek Him some more…and God promises that we will find Him no matter what has overtaken us.

God’s Word tells us that hope deferred makes a heart sick…we need to keep on hoping in the One that will heal.

We all need hope.

We need to remember where the Source of our hope comes from and  to  be poised and  ready to give the reason  for the hope that we have to others.

For the myriad of times these verses have been searched for online or in the Word…thanks be to God that His Word remain true…solid…eternal.

Our lives are in Your hands and our hope is secure…may we ever live to search for you…to seek You.

i like the last part best “and i will bring you back to the place from which i carried you into exile. I love that God brings us back. It is that whole prodigal theme again. No matter how far out we get God brings us back home, back to the place we started before we got it all wrong and we get to try again. Don’t you just love redemption!!

Me too… three… Kimz. I am praying for my friend Eric who is in the latter stages of cancer… please pray the LORD will bring him from the far country where he has roamed and “fought” his entire life. He is hope-less… Praise You Father for your ways that surpass our understanding. In all our ways we acknowledge You for You keep our paths straight. Please pray for Eric and Anna.
