I am thankful you have taken the time to visit my blog.
I am a woman who simply loves Jesus. I am also a wife and a mom to 3.
Since I was a young child I have wanted to be a writer. I would read The Writers' Market as if it were a novel.
I love fonts, writing letters (the old-school way), snail mail, words, Red Vines, Earl Grey tea, books piled high and capturing sunsets from my living room or front porch.
I believe God reveals Himself to us each day...we just need to pay attention.
This is my spot to expose with the lantern of my pen, the God who teaches us spiritual lessons throughout the lengths of our days.
He's slowly and tenderly restoring my sight.

In 1987, Carl and I lived in Rochester, MN while I attended physical therapy school at Mayo. This program was "affectionately" called mini-medical school for its intensity and demands. Some time during my coursework, I picked up Celebration of Discipline from my church library. It was not ideal timing as I wanted to hide behind the pages instead of taking a yellow highlighter to my text books. It felt like a new bluer sky opened and I saw scenery for the first time while reading Richard Foster's words. My soul experienced new life as verdant as emerging sprouts from a plant. This book has informed and transformed my life with God. In the midst of a busy season, Carl and I headed down the freeway to hear Richard last night. It was an evening to mark 40 years since Celebration's publication as well as a farewell of sorts to his public speaking. It was a precious gift to be reminded that the disclipines are not about earning brownie points but allowing God to do His work in us and to always value the slow work of God. 🎨: @hdcalebfur #grateful #slowwork

In 5th grade, we lost Caleb. He had been the kid who wanted perfect attendance and loved every part of school. We had to look a different direction and make an excruciating decision. But for Caleb it was the correct decision even though it was a difficult and scary risk. But quicker than we expected, we discovered Caleb's smile again. We are grateful and proud of how he embraced the middle school years fully. Congratulations Caleb for being hooked on math and also discovering you are an artist too. We will always miss our sweet silly Hazel. None of us have the heart to discard her beloved fetch balls even after nearly 3 years. So we won't. They are part of our yard decor. I don't miss her passion for eating flowers and sunflower leaves but everything else about her, I do. I have decided it's okay to never get over saying goodbye after 16 years of loving her. #missinghazel #sappydoglover

First peonies. My 3 chose a favorite childhood photo to replace B&W photos. Now to find the right wall. We have been walking down a lot of memory lanes as we approach the end of middle school for one, a wedding in 22 days for another and embarking on a career calling for the oldest. The beauty and fragrance of peonies will always remind me of this sweet season. #grateful #peonyperfection #mydreamthree
