Selah is a word or term that is used in the psalms and also in two verses in Habakkuk.  This term has unknown meaning but has been thought to possibly convey the following:

  • a pause either for silence or musical interlude
  • a signal for the congregation to sing, recite or fall prostrate on the ground
  • a crash of the cymbal

The Amplified Version of the Bible defines Selah as “pause, and calmly think of that”.

This section entitled Selah is just that…a place to pause and calmly think of that…those great verses in Scripture.

Read the scripture of the day and take a deep breath and calmly think about it!
